ABOUT ME
I am a career conservation biologist and wildlife photographer. I have studied, filmed and photographed large carnivores for over fifteen years across three continents. I completed my MSc on leopards at the University of Oxford, UK and my PhD on African lions at the University of Queensland, Australia.
My recent projects include an exploration of African carnivore densities in Uganda, a Disney Plus and National Geographic documentary on lions and an assessment of the health benefits of living with leopards. I work with large, diverse teams of scientists and storytellers contributing to publications such as National Geographic, Science, Nature Ecology and Evolution and the Lancet.
I currently split my time between Brisbane, Australia, and Uganda with my partner Anna Crysell. I am a research fellow at Griffith University’s Centre for Planetary Health and Food Security building international wildlife monitoring programs in places like Uganda, Sri Lanka, and Australia.
